Spring and Summer 2023!

March has come in like a lion this year. Lots of snow and seems every weekend was a new storm. We hope that this is now behind us. Things start to green up, birds are arriving for the summer.


This winter our Guild members have been busy with participating in mini workshops and monthly meetings. It was perfect weather to spin up the stash we all know is hiding somewhere. We continue to follow restrictions with social distancing, mask wearing and proof of vaccination. It is a joy to be able to get together and share our love of fibre.

With the warm weather coming this spring, our outside events at the Glengarry Pioneer Museum will start up in May/June. Our members will demonstrate on Fridays from 10 - 2 under the Williams Pavilion. This year, there will also be the Harvest Festival and the Living History Weekend - War of 1812 Reenactment. We are also planning on demonstrating at the McDonell Williamson House in Chute-à-Blondeau in July. Stay tuned for dates as they are confirmed and posted.

This winter, our meetings are dependent of weather conditions but we hope this is behind us now. We continue to make plans to participate in more activities next year. Some of our regular venues have already started to book dates of events for the 2023 Summer and Fall Season. We have listed some of the confirmed dates below and will be adding others as we get confirmation. So stay tuned!

Members of the Twistle Guild of Glengarry will under the pavillion and visitors can watch and try their hand at spinning wool, weaving, rug hooking and even knitting. Members have many talents and welcome others to learn their heritage craftwork.

Harvest Fall - Festival des récoltes

SEPTEMBER 10th 2023

This rural community comes together to help put on an amazing day of pioneer harvest demonstrations, a horse-drawn carriage parade, live music, pioneer craft demonstrators and a harvest tent filled with preserves, local produce, baking and heritage plants. Members of our guild will be demonstrating in Roxborough Hall as well as selling had crafted products. Come out and enjoy a wonderful day in the country!
